What the day will look like
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of private and nonprofit management liability insurance marketplace, products and services, developing productive business relationships with key insurance underwriters.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with appropriate external client contacts and other internal Aon clients.
- Provide effective responses on a timely basis. Do so in consultation with a senior team member where appropriate.
- Facilitate the compilation of submission information in conjunction with appropriate external client contacts and internal Aon clients.
- Provide broking status and continuous support and service to clients during entire broking process and entire period of engagement by client (this is a continuous process).
- Learn and understand all elements of client presentations and develop skill set in development of basic presentations / presentation sections including technical writing. Develop verbal presentation skills.
- Develop and utilize effective negotiation skills.
- Responsible for all aspects of client service for assigned book of business including, billing, policy collection, review and transmittal in accordance with established departmental service standards.
- Establish basic understanding of claims administration process and utilize the claims and legal advocacy group for claim administration and counsel as per established protocols and as directed by senior team members.
- Drive utilization of all available technology throughout broking process and client service process.
- Understand the causes of E&O and avoid and adopt practices to reduce exposure.
- Adhere to all best practices established by the practice.
- Replicate effective products/solutions and develop broking opportunities.
- Retain and grow assigned clients/prospects.
- Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior in all activities.
How this opportunity is different
The Financial Services Group (FSG) is Aon's dedicated management liability insurance specialty practice with deep experience in directors' and officers' (D&O), employment practices liability (EPL), fiduciary, crime, and kidnap, ransom, and extortion (KRE). FSG works closely with Aon's Cyber Solutions Cyber Broking team to deliver seamless advice and insurance placement across key financial lines, including errors and omissions (E&O). The FSG team comprises insurance professionals dedicated to serving the needs of our clients.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and exceptional organizational skills.
- 3+ years of financial lines insurance brokerage and/or underwriting experience with a concentration on Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices, Fiduciary, Crime and Special Crime.
- Demonstrated skills working with teams and ability to work with clients.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to work with others across the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various levels.
- Successfully operate in a fast-paced driven environment that requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must maintain appropriate broker's license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
Education
Bachelor's degree required.

Pay Transparency Laws
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $80,000 - $110,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, IL. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
