Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in a dynamic, private equity-owned manufacturing company. This position involves overseeing the accurate and timely execution of various accounting operations, including financial statements, budgeting, and audits. As a leader in the finance department, the role demands strategic financial management and operational efficiency to support the company's growth objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a dedicated team of accounting professionals, ensuring that financial processes align with industry best practices.
Compensation: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the entire monthly financial accounting closing process ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Produce timely and precise financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Supervise the reconciliation of bank/cash accounts, balance sheet accounts, and inventory levels to maintain fiscal order and accuracy.
- Monitor cash flow actively, projecting future cash receipts and disbursements, and reporting on cash management to senior leadership periodically.
- Oversee cost and inventory accounting to ensure financial integrity in stock valuation and costing.
- Manage the fixed asset register, accounting accurately for capital expenditures and depreciation.
- Direct and ensure compliance with all tax reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate all aspects of the annual financial audit process, ensuring readiness and compliance with external auditors.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of accounting professionals to foster an environment of continuous improvement and development.
- Regularly review and optimize internal controls and processes to align with best practices and implement new technologies to enhance financial operations.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting and finance roles with progressive responsibility.
- Proven experience with ERP system implementations and financial software integration.
- Demonstrated expertise in using Microsoft Excel and a solid proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with a track record of leading a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience in the manufacturing sector or a similar industry is desirable.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting standards specific to the manufacturing industry.
- Project management experience, particularly related to finance or operations.
- Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills.
