This role will be based in our Nashville, TN office. We offer a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office; and 1 day remote where it makes sense to do so.

Responsibilities
As an Underwriting Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for strategic and operational activities, associated with the management of the BSIG business and the development of new products and programs, program management underwriting, marketing and communications within the region. Support the Regional VP with goals/objectives.

We'll count on you to:
- Develop and ensure effective utilization of monitoring standards to assess product results (i.e., line profitability analysis, quarterly loss trends, utilization/productivity, etc.)
- Develop long and short-term business strategies to effectively position the company to market the proper products, programs and/or services to the right market segment through responsible market analysis and development activities.
- Establish policies and direct the analysis of information in support of ongoing programs and products as well as the development of new products and programs
- Collaborate with the actuarial, claims, finance and systems to support line of business development and maintenance needs.
- Schedule and maintain audit process for underwriting.
- Perform all staff management functions to support profit, growth and expense management goals.
- Develop and direct the responsible product development, communication and training efforts that are consistent with business strategies and are compatible with systems and operational capacity and are consistent with BSIG’s profit, growth and retention goals.
Qualifications
What you need to have:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 5-10 years experience working in a P&C Commercial Lines insurance environment
- Successful history of consistently setting clear direction by defining goals and priorities
- Ability to act in a decisive manner to achieve appropriate results
- Demonstrate organizational skills while working on multiple projects
- Ability to travel 25%
