Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks a Senior Programmer Analyst to join our IT department. This is advanced technical data processing work involving the development and maintenance of highly complex computer applications. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications. The most important aspects of this classification include the assessment of requirements from the users, the translation of logical designs into technical solutions, the design of solutions to programming problems, clear communication of proposed solutions to non-technical staff, structured testing, and project management from conception to installation. Work is performed under limited supervision.
This position is eligible for a 5% premium.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other acceptable bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of computer programming experience demonstrating increasing responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ORACLE development experience.
- Experience with SQL or PL/SQL; MS Access/Word/Excel; UNIX.
