Are you ready to bring your analytical prowess to a dynamic and friendly environment? Our packaging company is seeking a talented Senior Operations Finance Analyst to drive sales performance and strategic growth initiatives.
Position Overview:
The Senior Operations Finance Analyst reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for evaluating and analyzing sales data to provide insights and recommendations to improve sales performance. The Senior Operations Finance Analyst will collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources, such as sales reports, market research, and customer feedback, to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities. The Sr. Operations Finance Analyst may also be responsible for forecasting sales targets, monitoring sales performance against targets, and developing strategies to increase sales and profitability.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Identifying sales trends: Monitoring and identifying patterns and trends in sales data to understand the dynamics of the market and target customer segments. This includes analyzing historical sales data and comparing it with current performance to identify potential opportunities or challenges.
- Work closely with Sales Teams, Managers, Directors, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization in the distribution process.
- Strategic pricing analysis, support, and maintenance.
- Market increase and decrease implementation.
- Recommending improvements: Based on the analysis of sales data and market trends, providing recommendations and actionable insights to enhance distribution strategies, optimize processes, and drive sales growth. This may include suggesting changes to pricing, promotions, packaging, or distribution channels.
- Evaluate key business metrics to track pricing and identify opportunities to increase profitability and customer lifetime value.
- Work closely with the Sales team to define reporting needs and overhaul BI tools to ensure reports are meaningful, concise, and actionable. Work with IT where backend data development is required.
- Collaborate with Training Coordinator to develop training guides and materials for key Sales processes/reports.
- Evaluate internal processes that impact Sales and work with cross-functional leaders to define ownership, recommend opportunities to streamline and alleviate pressure on Sales, and create accountability throughout the customer experience.
- Collaborate and support the overall Sales Department in the following activities (but not limited to):
- Collecting and organizing sales data from various sources.
- Review weekly sales and gross profit reports and identify low margin items.
- Monitoring sales performance against targets, budget and identifying areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with sales staff on new line items and margin improvement opportunities.
- Analyzing sales data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
- Tracking and reporting Sales Campaigns and Initiatives.
- Analyzing and Tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Large Bid Coordination.
- Lead Tracking and Assignments.
- Dead Stock tracking and reporting.
- Key Vendor Growth and Analysis.
- Price Matrix Support.
- A/R Support and Root Cause analysis.
- Customer Portal Support and Updating Diversity Certifications.
- Data mining of dormant Accounts.
- Line-item Gap Analysis.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Office, SQL, and CRM systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or data analyst roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
