The Professional Practices Group (PPG) Tax Senior assists with administering the Firm’s Quality Control Program. This includes assisting in designing and maintaining quality control policies and procedures, implementing the procedures required by the Program, and testing for compliance with the applicable policies and procedures. The PPG Tax Senior reports to the Firm’s PPG Tax Risk Management Leader.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in the development of the Firm’s tax and ethical standards and the dissemination of these standards through training, manuals, memorandums, and other written communications.
- Develop and maintain tax-related documents that contain the firm’s policies and procedures.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the Firm’s methodology used by the tax practice.
- Assist with the administration of the monitoring function of the Quality Control Program, including participation during client acceptance processes, internal inspections, and any other reviews of engagement documentation.
- Assist with consultations and communications with engagement teams on technical tax matters and methodology questions.
- Assist in developing firm requirements and ensure that the Quality Control Program provides associates with professional development activities in accordance with firm guidelines and in subjects that are relevant to their responsibilities.
- Assist engagement teams with federal and state tax notices and examinations.
- Research and assistance with the issuance of memoranda interpreting tax guidance from authoritative bodies and relating any special Firm policy applicable to such pronouncements.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelors degree in accounting; Masters degree in accounting or tax preferred
- 2+ years recent tax experience in public accounting
- CPA certification preferred
- Experience in partnership and pass-through taxation preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, solid research skills, and the ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment.
