The Role at a Glance
The Sr. Life Product Analyst will deliver on complex assignments and initiatives for their assigned area. They will serve as a technical resource to develop complex spreadsheet models and rate files for insurance products. They will provide subject matter expertise and train end-users on use of models. This position will also lead complex issue resolution and advise IT to ensure calculations in administrative systems appropriately align to insurance products.
What you'll be doing
- Advises IT on proposed updates/changes to administrative systems to ensure systems accurately reflect calculations and how product performs per policy specifications.
- Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Leads initiatives to update or build new complex calculations and develop user-friendly models/spreadsheets which explain and illustrate policy performance of insurance products.
- Leads projects related to product development for applicable administrative systems.
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
- Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Provides subject matter expertise to internal teams; trains end-users on use of models and develops step-by-step instructions.
- Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Provides support on ad hoc reports/assignments as needed.
- Quality checks policy information and calculations in these same administrative systems.
- Recommends and implements improvements in processes and procedures within the department and other business areas.
- Reviews IRS code calculations prepared by internal/external stakeholders and codes calculations into Excel spreadsheets.
- Rigorously tests and protects models for accuracy and reliability.
- Serves as a technical resource to review and resolve complex issues; revises calculations/models as needed.

- 5-7+ Years experience in the insurance industry that directly aligns to the specific responsibilities for this role.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Analytical skills and close attention to detail is necessary.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a changing work environment.

The pay range for this position is $90,300 - $164,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
