The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate financial data. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
General Tasks
- Prepare Financial Statements:
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Review and analyze financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain General Ledger:
- Post journal entries and update general ledger accounts.
- Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Manage Month-End and Year-End Closing:
- Coordinate and execute month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile all accounts and prepare necessary adjustments.
- Reconcile Accounts:
- Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances.
- Assist in Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance against budgeted figures.
- Implement and Monitor Internal Controls:
- Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets.
- Monitor adherence to financial policies and procedures.
- Prepare for Audits:
- Gather and organize documentation required for internal and external audits.
- Address audit inquiries and provide requested information.
- Conduct Financial Analysis:
- Perform variance analysis and trend analysis on financial data.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Identify Process Improvements:
- Assess current accounting processes and systems.
- Recommend and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Cost Accounting:
- Track and analyze costs related to production and operational activities.
- Assist in the development of cost-control measures and pricing strategies.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Oversee accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and payments.
- Manage accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and resolving discrepancies.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks for all financial tasks, required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment
Hybrid – Office, manufacturing environment, and work from home.
Salary & Benefits
- 80 PTO hours available after first 60 days of service.
