As HOPCo continues to grow, we are looking for a Sr. Accountant in the Finance Department. Please see below for the functions and requirements for this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Records monthly cash activity for the specialty hospitals, including bank account reconciliations.
- Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries related to equity method investments, IBNR allocation, intercompany transactions, direct chargebacks as allowed in Master Service Agreements, leased employee entries, and payroll-related entries.
- Responsible for debt entries, including intercompany debt agreements, interest receivable/payable, capitalized debt issuance costs, and monthly debt roll forward.
- Partner with the Supply Chain Management department to ensure the accuracy and completeness of inventory. Utilize Coupa to ensure the general ledger is accurately reflected each month-end.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts (Assets and Liabilities) monthly.
- Assist with providing schedules and other related requests in conjunction with the annual audit.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning company financial information.
- Assist with writing procedure documents, including contract summaries with respective accounting treatment.
EDUCATION
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA is strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Experience in health care organization preferred.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices to identify and describe accounting systems and subsystems.
- Knowledge of research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations.
- Knowledge of computer information systems and spreadsheets to present financial information.
