If you would like to have a hands-on global impact on payment solutions, we would like you to join our team as a Senior Buyer/Planner. This is a full-time, on-site position based in our office in Mount Prospect, IL, located just outside of Chicago, IL.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As a Senior Buyer/Planner, you will be responsible for all purchasing activities for the assigned commodities, assuring the continuous supply of materials to support customer service goals and production requirements, and managing materials levels to meet inventory turn goals.
The Buyer/Planner will have a direct impact on our Manufacturing Supply Chain group, responsible for:
- Place timely purchase orders to acquire materials and consumables.
- Proactively identify and take appropriate corrective actions to prevent material shortages.
- Expedite materials as required and provide accurate material status information to other departments and site management.
- Evaluate and act upon the MRP requirements and Kanban levels for assigned commodities.
- Monitor supplier performance levels against specified targets and implement corrective action when needed.
- Maintain database (lead-times, EOQs, Vendors Master, commodity codes, cost, quotes, etc.).
- Ensure purchase material usage is processed correctly & timely (debits, receiving & invoice discrepancies, RTVs, NCs, scrap, E&O, samples).
- Minimize excess and obsolete inventory.

You will bring outstanding analytical skills with well-demonstrated success in problem-solving and solution implementation.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related field, such as management, business, engineering, or supply chain.
- ISM's CPSM and/or APICS' CPIM certification preferred.
- 5-7+ years of increasing responsibility in purchasing.
- International procurement experience is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to write or speak about complicated issues in a manner that will be understood by all.
- Strong background in areas of purchasing with strong attention to detail.
- Strategic and tactical thinker with the foresight and ability to understand how their decisions and actions will trickle down to all levels of the organization.
- Excellent math skills as needed to process data and understand the meaning of the data.
- Proficient in Microsoft PC-based software and MRP/ERP systems.
- Exceptionally well organized and able to prioritize their work.
- Ability to set and track goals for themselves.
- Ability to multi-task and work on more than one project at a time.
- Able to commit to and meet project deadlines.
