This role will partner with our Centers of Excellence, people technology teams, and business leaders to assist in the development and implementation of a multi-year digital strategic plan that transforms and sustains our enterprise HR Core and Payroll functions. This role will be part of a team that leverages external perspective and internal thought leadership to co-develop a technology-focused ecosystem where HR Core and Payroll functions remain distinctly human in a new era of partnership between Human + Machine. This role will have close partnerships with the global payroll, operations, and technology teams, as well as key areas across the People Team, to enable and adopt new technologies and business processes across this new ecosystem.
This role will ensure that technology investments and system design support the long-term goals of our business. The role will influence and guide teams to foster a culture of process excellence, experimentation, and human-centered design through technology. This role promotes a consulting-style culture and customer-first mindset when working with internal enablement and delivery partners. This role is the voice of the customer with the People Technology Team.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Supports the development of the long-term HR Core and Payroll strategy
- Shares responsibility for development of best practices and emerging technologies in the space
- Effectively leads and facilitates meetings with business and leadership
- Positions the overall technology organization favorably with the business. Establishes action plans to increase Net Promoter Scores (NPS) as an indication of healthy business relationships
- Enables new connections / relationships among partners across multiple portfolios, value streams, and teams
- Co-owns technology road mapping activities and processes for the organization with Director and Vice President, based on vendor inputs and in collaboration with a variety of technology-based teams
- Leads governance, associated quarterly planning efforts, and prioritization sessions with internal business partners
- Expert understanding of the landscape of other vendor technologies emerging and “on the market” today. Works with director to host semiannual emerging technology sessions with partners
- Translates business vision/need into requirements for technology teams. Validates requirements against the marketplace and stakeholder groups via pilots and focus groups to ensure the voice of the customer is considered
- Advocates for the business vision, roadmap and priorities amongst other value streams and portfolios, while being a good steward of enterprise priorities and resources
- Anticipates needs and proactively addresses technical and functional gaps. Identifies potential issues and proactively develops mitigation plans
- Maintains positive working relationships with the organization and ensures agreed upon relationship norms are met
- Applies continuous improvement principles and ceremonies (ie. Retrospectives, Inspect & Adapt sessions) with the organization to ensure the continued success of the relationship
- Partners to establish a culture focused on iterative transformation
- Works with delivery leadership teams to align Engineering / Architecture expectations of Product team within an agile framework
- Influences and aligns portfolio backlogs across products with organizational initiatives and client needs
- Assists in the RFP Process for new technology/vendors that impact the HR Core and Payroll portfolio

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in Human Capital product strategy, product development and/or implementation with a focus on HR Core and Payroll functionality
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Project, Planner, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Advanced experience/working knowledge of Oracle HCM (Human Capital Management) system, preferably in Core HR, Payroll, Time and Labor and/or Absence Management
- Proven solid leadership skills; able to operate as an agile global leader with understanding and appreciation for regional differences
- Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and navigate a matrixed environment to drive collective success
- Proven solid creativity and problem-solving skills to innovatively solve business challenges
- Proven track record to drive business results is required - identifies and capitalizes on opportunities, identifies risks/issues/assesses implications, formulates recommendations, and drives sound decisions that deliver results
- Demonstrated project management experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
