Eyas Landing/Merlin Day Academy is seeking a full-time Lead Therapeutic Assistant/paraprofessional to support our therapeutic staff.
The lead therapy assistant will supervise a team of therapeutic assistants and assist professionals including a licensed social worker, occupational, physical, speech, and ABA therapists.
This position involves assisting in a small class of 10-12 children, providing 1:1 and 1:4 support to our students, activity preparation and cleanup, assisting at the front desk as needed, room cleaning, and collaborating with our therapeutic team of specialists.
Experience working with young children with autism, sensory processing disorders, and other developmental delays is highly preferred. The ideal candidate is one who is passionate about working with young children and driven to develop professionally.

Job Features:
- Provide 1:1 to 1:4 support to clients in our program.
- Daily participation in individual and group therapy sessions.
- Assist in ensuring our clients' daily needs are met, including toileting and eating.
- Assist with daily data collection.
- Assist with meal prep and cleanup for lunch and snack times.
- Assist in therapy room and lesson preparation.
- Assist with front desk receptionist duties as needed.
- Collaborate with therapists on team intervention plans, behavior and sensory strategies, and daily activities.
- Participate in program development tasks as needed.

Lead Therapeutic Assistant Responsibilities:
- Conduct first onsite interviews for Therapeutic Assistant applicants.
- Schedule second onsite classroom observation and interview with Office Manager for Therapeutic Assistant applicants.
- Complete reference checks for Therapeutic Assistant applicants.
- Review orientation procedures and maintain Therapeutic Assistant orientation binders.
- Conduct orientation meetings with Therapeutic Assistants (once a week for two months, invite supervisor/director as needed).
- Participate in weekly meetings with classroom teachers, Therapeutic Assistants, Senior Therapeutic Assistant, Office Manager, and Clinic Director as needed.
- Create and manage Therapeutic Assistant daily schedules/hours.
- Coordinate coverage when Therapeutic Assistants are absent.
- Supervise Therapeutic Rest procedures and schedules.
- Conduct annual performance reviews with Office Manager.
- Provide Therapeutic Assistant coverage and additional support to Blue Bird Day staff and clients as needed.
- Track staff hours/attendance on iSolved and approve time off (Therapeutic Assistants and Senior Therapeutic Assistant).
- Manage staff schedules/hours and assist with coverage (Therapeutic Assistants, Senior Therapeutic Assistants, Interns).
- Collaborate with administration, therapists, and teachers to delegate tasks to ensure preparation of therapy settings.
- Assign, oversee, and ensure completion of Senior Therapeutic Assistant projects.
- Maintain therapy room preparation protocols, task lists, and equipment.
- Assign, oversee, and ensure completion of Therapeutic Assistant daily tasks related to therapy preparation.
- Assist in setting up of new materials & equipment.
- Report building, room, and equipment maintenance issues to the appropriate party.
- Be on call for day-to-day support.
- Participate in yearly performance review with supervisor.
- Possible travel to client home sessions as needed.
- Participate in all required company orientation, professional development days, and ongoing training as required.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings, department meetings, and as needed team meetings.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
