Supervisor, Billing Support
Must have flexibility Monday - Friday between 8:00am-8:00pm, EST for an 8-hour shift.

More about the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Billing Support Supervisor to lead our team of Billing Support Specialists. The Billing Support Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the billing support team, ensuring efficient and accurate billing processes, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of billing procedures, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of 7-10 Billing Support Specialists, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee daily billing support operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Address and resolve complex billing issues and escalations, working closely with the billing support team and other departments.
- Monitor and analyze billing support processes and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments, refunds, and adjustments.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of billing activities and customer interactions.
- Collaborate with finance, customer service, and other departments to ensure seamless billing operations and excellent customer service.
- Develop and implement billing-related training programs and resources for the billing support team.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to billing and reimbursement.
- Prepare and present regular reports on billing support activities, performance metrics, and process improvements to senior management.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provides immediate supervision to group to fulfill objectives and work assignments. Supervises technical and support non-exempt staff.
Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a billing or finance role, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Strong understanding of billing processes, procedures, and regulations, preferably in a healthcare or laboratory setting.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using billing software (Xifin and Careviso is a plus).
- Proficiency in Salesforce.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of empathy and customer service orientation.
Preferred
- 1-3 years clinical laboratory, physician’s office, and/or healthcare, insurance and/or billing customer service experience.
- Proven experience in a billing supervisory role, preferably in a laboratory setting.
