The Financial Systems Manager directs and manages the work activities and staff responsible for developing multifamily property management software including working with third party applications. Responsible for providing software support and technical assistance to Multifamily Property Management teams. Provides project management leadership for local and national property management technology projects and initiatives related to the multifamily platform.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees and manages multiple Financial Systems teams and vendors that are responsible for troubleshooting and developing software used by the Multifamily Property Management teams. They will also provide ongoing software training for the multifamily technology platform.
- Responsible for training, development, and performance evaluations of direct reports, and assists in establishing performance objectives for the department.
- Identifies, analyzes and recommends to senior management enhancements, additions, and changes on technical, software and/or process-related projects.
- Manages and supports the development, tracking, and implementation of multifamily technology process efficiency and technology projects on a local and national level from idea to implementation.
- Oversees and ensures all project and process enhancements are in compliance with acceptable multifamily property management practices and applicable internal and external policies and regulations.
- Participates in the development and monitoring of benchmarking and metrics to assess and manage direct and indirect labor costs on projects. Advises manager on resource constraints and impact of labor constraints on project timelines.
- Presents and/or delivers project updates to senior leadership committees in formal presentations, both verbal and written.
- Partners with the training team and ensures that all developed training meets the needs of the identified system users/audience.
- Provides leadership for post-project implementation support to ensure that support is appropriate and measurable.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides formal supervision to individual employees within a single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends the same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Four-year college degree in Business Administration, MIS or related field preferred. A minimum of eight years experience with technology management required. Demonstrated expert knowledge of software related to multifamily property management systems (i.e. RealPage, Yardi) and other applications.
Knowledge and experience in apartment community operation sufficient to understand the processes, procedures and daily workflows relative to the use of multifamily property management technology.
A minimum of 3 years prior supervisory or management experience.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Project management training and/or certification preferred.
