Massage Me is looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our Therapeutic Massage Spa. This is an on-site position. Our ideal candidate has good communication and organizational skills, is detail oriented, self-directed, and assertive but compassionate. A minimum of 1 year of medical billing experience is required.
Primary job duties include charge entry, payment posting, accounts receivable research, assisting patients with account questions, and processing insurance payments and carrier denials.
Our group practice is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist part-time. In this role you will be an integral part of our Billing team while working independently on the assigned scope of work and interacting extensively with patients, insurance companies, and Chiropractors offices.
Main Duties:
Process PIP claims and referrals.
Reach out to Chiropractors for referrals.
Submit insurance claims to insurance companies.
Post payments, adjustments, and notes from EOBs.
Post payments from patients.
Reconcile electronic remittance notices.
Assist with the setup of a new billing system/software.
Investigate and respond to patient and insurance inquiries.
Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.
Prepare and examine patient bills for accuracy and request any missing information.
Work claims and claim denials, write appeal letters to insurance companies.
Maintain strictest confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 3 years of Medical Billing experience
Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid, knowledge of CMS guidelines.
Workable knowledge of EMR software, codes and appropriate modifiers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, Internet. Able to type 40 wpm. 10-key.
Ability to multitask and work independently in the absence of supervision
Ability to communicate with patients, insurance companies and others in a clear, positive, and professional manner.
Ability to operate a variety of standard office machines, including a personal computer and a variety of software programs.
Preferred:
· Credentialing experience.
