Job Description
The Transit Control Lead monitors workflow and provides guidance to Operations personnel, which includes but is not limited to Exceptions, Wires, ACH, Remittance, Oil & Gas and Item Processing; ensures effective, efficient, and quality work is produced according to department standards and procedures; provides assistance in resolving complex problems, both internal and external; makes recommendations to supervisor regarding policy and procedures; assumes responsibility for training staff and establishing/implementing and reviewing departmental policies and procedures; reports monthly operational statistics to management; performs as a backup for employees on leave; works on special projects, bank acquisitions, and mergers as assigned.
Required work schedule: M-F 9:30AM-6PM

How You'll Spend Your Time
- You will coordinate and lead daily workflow, including quality and quantity control, prioritization of tasks and efforts, and team schedules.
- You will handle complex issues, such as phone calls or emails, requiring a heightened level of knowledge and/or authority.
- You will work very closely with the department manager to plan special projects, represent the department in meetings, and provide input regarding decision making and problem solving.
- You will work very closely with the processing team, training new employees, monitoring performance and production, tracking attendance, and providing input to department manager regarding personnel matters.
Education & Experience Requirements
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associates Degree or higher in Business related field of study and 3-5 years in bank operations, preferably Bank Operations or 6-8 years’ equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge processing systems in assigned departments.
- Thorough knowledge of bank operations.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent PC and software application skills; ability to operate 10 key by touch.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communications skills and leadership skills.
- Excellent customer service/relations skills.
- Excellent problem resolution skills.
- Excellent organization and leadership skills; ability to motivate employees to foster a team atmosphere.
