The Position on our Team:
The Manager, Asset Management is responsible to oversee projects related to partnership relationships (joint ventures and 3rd party management contracts). In this capacity, the Manager, Asset Manager will interpret complex financial analysis provided by the Analyst and convey the information clearly to executives and partners, set expectations for partners, and provide recommendations to meet those expectations. In addition to their partnership responsibilities, the Manager, Asset Management will oversee and manage the Analyst’s work, verifying accuracy and ensuring deadlines are met.
This is a regular, full-time, and hybrid role with three days in-office and two days remote.
In This Role, You Will:
- Review and oversee accuracy of the Analyst’s/Senior Analyst’s work.
- Interface with partners and take ownership of partnership projects ensuring that all projects are completed timely and accurately.
- Act as liaison between executive team and partners.
- Prepare budgets for partnership properties at the micro and macro level; usher through the budgeting process to approval.
- Perform special projects and assigned analysis as directed.
- Support annual and long range strategic planning process at the property level.
- When required, perform the functions of the Analyst/Senior Analyst including:
- Prepare, analyze and develop financial reports for planning, forecasting, trending and variance analysis to actual results on business performance.
- Perform business, financial and operational analysis to impact results and support senior level decision-making.
- Perform analysis of properties’ profit and loss statements to enhance quality of management decision making by identifying drivers of performance and opportunities for performance improvement.
- Provide data regarding achievement of financial objectives and analyze business issues and opportunities.
- Prepare weekly/monthly commentary, key company initiatives, business results and analysis for senior management.
- Prepare complex business scenario models.
- Assist Financial Analyst’s development through knowledge transfer, skills training and other support as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to Macerich:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or mathematics required.
- 5-7 years of financial analysis experience in real estate.
- Basic understanding of the retail real estate business cycle including Development pro-formas, Entitlements, and Leasing.
- Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and Argus.
- Advanced degree, CPA or MBA preferred, but not required.
