Job Overview ON SITE ONLY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage various accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations.
- Responsible for the accurate keying and processing of business transactions in our accounting system.
- Accounts payable: weekly check run, reconcile vendor statements and manage vendor balances. Process vendor payments through various payment methods (checks, ACH, etc.)
- Accounts Receivable: cash application, process and research credits/debits, collections, forecasting cash flow.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable controls accounts to aging reports.
- Reconcile credit card and liability accounts monthly.
- Responsible for owning, reviewing and improving processes as required.
- Prepare applicable monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Monthly general ledger account analysis and balance sheet account reconciliation.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes to ensure all relevant data has been captured in appropriate time-period.
- Work with operations, vendors and customers to problem solve as needed.
- Work as a team player in evaluating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Responsible for performing other duties as may be assigned in the future.
Experience
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as an accountant.
- Must have excellent analytical, organization and problem solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365, including advanced Excel skills (spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, graphs, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions.
- High degree of responsibility and initiative with the desire to advance beyond this position.
