Position Title: Senior Stress Analyst
Location: Auburn Hills
Shifts Needed: Day
Character of Position
As an Senior Stress Analyst, you will be part of a team that is delivering state of the art solutions in support of the industry's most critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and create structural engineering specifications using various metallic, non-metallic, and composite materials
- Utilize computer-aided design, mathematical models, and other computer software to formulate, analyze, and modify structures designed to support manufacturing operations
- Evaluate models to test damage tolerance, durability, and stability to determine structural configurations
- Lead efforts in documenting performance records, inspecting damaged or malfunctioning products, and writing technical reports or product manuals
- Support the development of new methods and processes for the business development team
- Assist with training or startups (Travel may be required)
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines, and ITAR compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Research, analyze, and create structural engineering specifications using various metallic, non-metallic, and composite materials
- Utilize computer-aided design, mathematical models, and other computer software to formulate, analyze, and modify structures designed to support manufacturing operations
- Evaluate models to test damage tolerance, durability, and stability to determine structural configurations
Experience
- Detailed understanding of static structural analysis and finite element methods
- Experience and proficiency of at least one modern FEM package
- Experience in the analysis of complex structures
- Experience performing stress analysis in a manufacturing environment
- Superior computer skills, with solid experience in CAD, CAM, and FEM
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.
