JOB SUMMARY:
The Grants and Policy Analyst will serve a critical role by providing the team and clients with knowledge of grants and related policy. The individual in this role will have an opportunity to build relationships with communities in Michigan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Researches and analyzes grant opportunities for the public sector clients in areas such as transportation, utilities, parks and recreation, economic development and electric vehicles.
- Provides comprehensive and concise information on grant opportunities for clients and team members.
- Development, writing and preparation of grant applications.
- Monitors grant programs.
- Post-grant submittal and post-award monitoring and management.
- Conducts reviews of local, state, and federal policies, as needed.
- Assists in the presentation of opportunities to clients, preparing proposals and estimating time required to complete a grant application.
- Prepares meeting materials for governing bodies.
- Assists with public engagement related to grant applications or grant project implementation.
- Ensures compliance with grant regulations.
- Attends Committee and Council meetings for clients.
- Serves on the client’s Funding Committee.
SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS:
- Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment as well as function independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects to be completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Previous experience in grant writing; additional experience with government agencies and policy is a plus.
