Summary
Balfour Beatty is seeking an HCM Business Analyst to join our team. This individual will report to our Dallas, TX, location but can work a hybrid or remote schedule, depending on their geographic location. This individual will provide support for all Human Capital Management software applications and integrations including configuration, troubleshooting, documentation, testing, reporting, and training. They will also assist with defining system strategic vision and architecture, while collecting, recommending, and prioritizing system change requests and process improvements. In addition, the HCM Business Analyst will develop and execute plans for system and process changes. They will also assist with system advancement, system utilization and end-user satisfaction.
Essential Functions
- Ensure all assigned modules and integrations are configured properly and are maintained with current software updates.
- Develop test plans and scripts. Coordinate and perform testing ensuring proper documentation.
- Provide initial specifications and delivery documentation for integrations and custom applications.
- Manage system changes through effective application of system change control processes (collect, track, review, prioritize).
- Assist with all activities associated with new business system requirements including requirement definition, vision and scope documentation, design document development, development coordination, and status communication through project completion.
- Closely monitor assigned workflows, background jobs, and integrations resolving any issues within eight (8) business hours of discovery.
- Coordinate with vendor(s) and IT to resolve system issues and bugs.
- Manage system end user security.
- Identify training needs. Design, develop, manage, and facilitate training curriculum.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality of all assigned end user documentation.
- Communicate system and process changes to end-users.
- Develop custom and ad hoc reports on an as needed basis.
- Evaluate and report system advancement, utilization, and end-user satisfaction.
- Provide support, consultation, and research to end-users. Manage the customer support email box.
- Respond to all requests for information within two (2) business days of receipt. If a request cannot be completed within two (2) business days, work with the customer to determine a mutually acceptable date for report completion.
- Write all documentation for business analyst processes maintaining necessary updates.
- Actively participate in group status meetings and/or conference calls and respond to identified issues.
- Actively participate in task team meetings to fully understand end-user needs.
- Actively participate in vendor conferences, webcasts, and user group communities.

- Build effective relationships with project teams, functional departments, customers, vendors, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.

Working Conditions
Majority of work is completed in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. Some travel is required.
Education, Experience, And Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of human resources, payroll, and benefit work processes, best practices, and systems.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of human capital management business analyst experience in a wide range of human resource, payroll, and benefit modules.
- JD Edwards experience and JDE Consultant Certification a plus.
- Dayforce experience and Dayforce Certification a plus.
- Experience with report writing software.
- Good understanding of Internet technologies and trends including services, software and protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interview individuals and groups, to negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts.
- Able to develop and facilitate end-user training and testing.
- Able to critically evaluate and integrate information gathered from multiple sources to prioritize and summarize true needs at appropriate levels of detail.
- Observational skills to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for discovery.
- Ability to act as a change management agent, working to facilitate the integration of newly acquired businesses.
- Able to coordinate and communicate information effectively to project stakeholders and management.
- Organizational skills to work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines in a timely manner, prioritize multiple projects and provide status reports on open projects.
- Able to coordinate with IT and functional groups to ensure projects meet schedules.
- Word processing, spreadsheet, internet, e-mail, diagram, scheduling, database and report writing software; server and workstation operating systems.
- Ability to travel intermittently, up to 10% of schedule.
- Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
