This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, an analytical mindset, and a commitment to ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies. The Revenue Accountant will collaborate with various departments to support revenue recognition, billing, and the preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in accordance with GAAP or IFRS standards.
- Oversee the issuance of customer invoices and review revenue contracts for proper billing terms.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue-related accounts and investigate variances.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to revenue, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for revenue transactions.
- Manage internal WIP reporting compliance and data integrity
- Document and continuously improve Controls and SOP’s
- Work with sales, operations, and legal teams to ensure correct revenue recognition and resolve any discrepancies.
- Analyze revenue trends, customer billing issues, and suggest improvements to revenue processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable laws/regulations related to revenue.
- Identify opportunities to streamline revenue accounting processes and enhance efficiencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting or general accounting, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Experience with revenue recognition principles and accounting software.
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS revenue recognition guidelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
