The Senior Accounting Analyst provides timely information for the sales, manufacturing and distribution operations to meet corporate requirements and guide effective business decisions that deliver profitable growth. The primary responsibilities include monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis and cross-functional communication of business results, product margin reporting and analytics, as well as special projects and ad hoc requests. The Senior Accounting Analyst will be a key business partner to our various facilities and departments. This position reports to the Accounting Manager, with high visibility to the Controller as well as other business leaders.
Core Responsibilities:
- Enforce governance with internal accounting controls and compliance with ITW financial policies and procedures.
- Complete month-end journal entries and account reconciliations along with additional month-end reporting to communicate results to various departments.
- Work with operations, sales and marketing teams to prepare value-added analysis, accruals, calculations & ultimately improve KPIs. Examples include rebate analysis/accruals, inventory turnover/reserves, and plant-level P&Ls.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate the exchange of financial information to key stakeholders with knowledge of variances.
- Assist in preparation of annual operation plan, long-range strategic plans, monthly outlooks, quarterly reviews and other special analysis.
- Other ad hoc requests as required.

Minimum Requirements:
- BS/BA Accounting required; CPA is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
- Accounting experience in a manufacturing/CPG environment is preferred.
- Basic cost accounting experience preferred.
- Understanding of financial statements and working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, ideally related to manufacturing/production/distribution businesses.
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze raw data and apply creative/innovative analysis, and the capability to form key, succinct, and actionable insights and recommendations.
- Attention to detail with a focus on results.
- Collaborative and highly communicative, self-directed with high orientation to teamwork.
- Must have working knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office software skills.
