As a Financial Reporting Staff Accountant at Sinclair, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our SEC filings are completed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Assist team with timely and accurate preparation of SEC filings, involving quarterly and annual financial reports, proxy statements, 401K statements, and other regulatory filings, as necessary.
- Prepare various schedules and variance analysis to be used by management, the board of directors, and independent auditors.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly close schedules.
- Perform controls around financial reporting activities.
Requirements:
- At least 1-3 years of experience in financial reporting, corporate accounting, or public accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience with U.S. GAAP.
- Strong aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Desire and ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with others.
- Proficient or advanced in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with Oracle is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization.
This position is not a remote position and requires 5 days in the office at our Corporate Headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD.

The base salary compensation range for this role is $65,000 to $75,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
