Role Overview:
The Field Compliance Auditor is responsible for inspecting and auditing the company's safety equipment including ladder and harness inspections, fleet, stock, and tool checks, ensuring discrepancies are identified and reported to management.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Equipment Safety Audits (Ladders, Harnesses):
- Audit the safety-critical equipment of ladders and harnesses.
- Ensure regular safety checks and inspections of ladders and harnesses are conducted in line with UK health and safety regulations (e.g., Working at Height Regulations 2005). These must take place every 3 months for ladders and every 6 months for harnesses.
- Record and track safety checks and inspections of ladders and harnesses.
- Verify that all equipment meets safety standards, is well-maintained, and that faulty or outdated equipment is promptly removed from use and returned to stores.
- Ensure that ladders and harnesses are replaced with those that meet the safety standard.
- PPE Safety Audits:
- Audit the safety-critical equipment of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure regular safety checks and inspections of PPE are conducted in line with UK health and safety regulations (e.g., Working at Height Regulations 2005).
- Record and track safety checks and inspections of PPE.
- Verify that all PPE meets safety standards, is well-maintained, and that faulty or outdated equipment is promptly removed from use and returned to stores.
- Ensure that PPE is replaced with those that meet the safety standard.
- Additional duties and responsibilities:
- Stock and Inventory Audits:
- Ensure that regular stock counts take place within the region whilst on site with an engineer.
- Reconcile physical stock with inventory records, identify discrepancies, and feedback results to area management and stock department.
- Fleet Audits:
- Ensure that regular van checks are carried out and recorded within the region whilst on site with an engineer.
- Reconcile the van checks with engineers' records, identify discrepancies, and feedback results to area management and fleet department.
- Tools Audits:
- Ensure that regular tool checks are carried out and recorded within the region whilst on site with the engineer.
- Reconcile the tool checks with engineers' records, identify discrepancies, and feedback results to area management and fleet department.
- Follow-up Audits:
- Conduct follow-up audits to ensure that corrective actions from previous audits have been successfully implemented and are sustainable.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in compliance and audits, ideally within a HSE, stock management, logistics, or fleet management environment.
- Ability to conduct inspections and audits.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying issues.
- Excellent communication skills to report findings.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulations, including COSHH, PPE standards.
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification in health and safety.
