The Senior Accountant will assist the Accounting team with tasks related to contract management, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.
What You’ll be Doing
- Prepare monthly financial reports for management
- Provide explanations of fluctuations and trends when financial reports are distributed
- Research and provide answers for questions from management
- Assist with the sales order and revenue plan preparation
- Assist with the cost of sales calculations
- Perform order based gross margin analyses for larger orders that close each month
- Prepare month-end journal entries and open balance reconciliations as assigned
- Review sales order and purchase orders to ensure all agree as to dollars and payment schedules, determine if the contract is standard or has special terms, and determine revenue recognition in NetSuite.
- Conduct order audits by analyzing data regarding new sales contracts and change orders to determine compliance with sales order policy and procedures
- Apply and interpret accounting policies and procedures regarding contracts and revenue recognition
- Determine Annualized Recurring Revenue by customer by product at month-end and prepare monthly variance explanations
- Prepare end of month account reconciliations with supporting detail
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High level ASC606 accounting knowledge
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent ability to produce quality deliverables with high deadline sensitivity
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Five or more years of experience in corporate accounting
- Experience managing and interpreting contracts preferred
- Experience with cost accounting or financial auditing preferred
