The role you’ll contribute:
The Financial Clearance Coordinator is a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills both in person and over the phone, that sets the stage for excellence in the initial patient experience. This person in collaboration with multi departments performs critical functions essential to ensuring proper clinical treatment, billing and reimbursement, patient satisfaction as well as efficient and accurate handling of the complete patient visit.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Initiates, manages, and maintains the financial clearance process and assists patients timely.
- Responsible for understanding benefit coverage and patient’s care coordination.
- Responsible for knowledge of departmental scheduling and/or financial clearance.
- Responsible for creating a positive patient experience by accurately and efficiently handling the operations relating to scheduling and/or financial clearance activities prior to the patient visit. Verifying proper patient identity, obtaining insurance benefits and determining eligibility per insurance guidelines, ensures MSPQs, generates patient cost estimates and discusses payment options or eligible patient programs.
- Maintains an accurate cash drawer and functions related to cash drawer reconciliation and deposit when required. Meets the needs of each patient timely prior to visit.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer experience required
- Thorough understanding of insurance coverage.
- Customer service experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
Knowledge of EMR software preferred.
