Job Description
Maintains adequate accounting and control for various accounting functions. Maintains and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts. Prepares quarterly financial statements and board reports. Maintains and develops automated accounting systems, controls, and procedures. Prepares and develops reports for management and/or for board members.
Assists in the review of monthly journal entries and monthly reporting files. Leads special projects involving research and mapping process flows. Assists in the drafting of process narrative and control documents. Responds to inquiries regarding accounting policies, procedures, and issues from management, external reporting, and board members.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
- Five to eight years of experience in financial accounting activities
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
- Considerable knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulations
- Considerable knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis
- Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
- CPA or CMA preferred
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
