In order to accomplish this work, we require a leader in integrated services to join our team. This person will demonstrate a high level of commitment to working with multiple government departments, focusing on responsive policy and service delivery systems. This position will be located within the Student Services and Equity Branch, dedicated to collaborating across government to build a Nova Scotian educational system that is inclusive, equitable, culturally responsive, and a safe learning environment for all learners.
The SchoolsPlus and Integrated Services Consultant, under the direction of the Director of SchoolsPlus/Integrated Services, will be accountable for the strategic coordination of the inter-departmental collaboration/SchoolsPlus model to effectively support children, youth, and families across our province.
Qualifications
As the successful candidate, you will have:
- A Master's Degree in Social Work, or equivalent post-secondary training, and a minimum of eight years of related experience in leadership for provincial strategies/programs that have cross-departmental accountability and implications.
- Eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers and eligibility for a Specialist Teaching License with the Office of Teacher Certification, EECD.
- Experience in an integrated leadership role (consultant, coordinator, manager or equivalent) with a focus on inclusive education.
- Experience working with school-based staff and RCEs/CSAP in the areas of integrated services within education, safe and inclusive schools, cultural and linguistic responsiveness, and the development of professional learning and related guidelines.
As the successful incumbent, you work well independently and in team environments, apply concepts of equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusive practice to all areas of your work, and support your colleagues in doing the same. You can build productive coalitions with non-governmental and governmental members (both internally and externally). You are proficient in using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). You have demonstrated competencies in project management, change management, transition and implementation planning, research, and developing background papers and other discussion notes as required.
You are someone who has invested in continuous learning for yourself and your peers, understands adult learning principles, and is able to effectively execute the development and conducting of professional learning in person and online. You have experience providing regulated professionals with pre-service and/or employment competency-based learning.
The successful candidate will have outstanding verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills, as well as excellent organizational skills, will be detail-oriented, and will have demonstrated ability to multi-task. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups, community partners/members, and colleagues.
Additional Assets:
- Knowledge of the intersection of Nova Scotia’s Inclusive Education Policy with other social policy department strategies focused on child and youth development.
- Excellence in program design and evaluation skills.
- Bilingualism (fluent in French and English).

Working Conditions
- Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
- May be required to work overtime on occasion.

Pay Grade: PR 20
Salary Range: $3,507.08 - $4,129.29 Bi-Weekly
