Hourly range for Registered Nurses: $40.18-$62.31/hour
- Evening Shift Differential: $3.00/hour
- Night Shift Differential: $4.00/hour

Responsibilities
Provide the delivery of culturally sensitive, age-specific team-based care models in nursing care within the Ypsilanti Health Center for Primary Care. This position also includes care of adult, pediatric, and obstetrical patients in family practice and specialty settings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assessment of patient needs and assistance with medical issues related to health concerns.
- Manage prescription refill requests and secure patient messages.
- Adapt communication style to patients representing diverse personal, professional, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Utilize excellent listening skills to receive detailed information.
- Utilize electronic protocol database to assess, educate, and document all health information in an accurate and expedient fashion.
- Respond to the needs of a program (hours of operation).
- Meet minimum established quality and productivity standards.
- Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources.
- Collaborate with providers when necessary in providing advice or determining disposition for patients.
- Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel; collaborate with colleagues, other disciplines, and health care/community services to promote continuity of care.
- Nurse visits including but not limited to pre-visit planning, medication reconciliation, patient education, and other nurse visits as requested.
- Telephone management, patient and family education, assistance with procedures, daily clinic operations management, functional supervision of assistive personnel, and other responsibilities as requested.

- Demonstrated knowledge and skills providing patient and family education and coaching related to chronic conditions including but not limited to diabetes, asthma, and coronary artery disease.
- Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation. Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
- Willingness to adapt to different populations (e.g., OB/GYN, adult medicine, pediatrics) as patients need. Orientation and training would be provided for new subspecialties within primary care based on expansion of division.
Nursing Specific Info
Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Michigan.
- Three (3) years (out of the last 5 years) of RN experience in Adult Internal Medicine (to include Adult Inpatient, Emergency Services, or Ambulatory Care Medicine Adult). One (1) year of OB/Gyn RN experience in Ambulatory Care, Labor, and Delivery.
NOTE: Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Ambulatory Care Nursing
- Ambulatory Care Certification
- Family Medicine experience
- BSN
- Experience as a charge nurse or equivalent management skills
- Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.
- 2 years within the past 5 years experience with post-acute or ambulatory care primary care nursing experience
- OB Nursing Experience
- Pediatric nursing experience
- Demonstrated commitment to Ypsilanti Community through work and/or volunteer experience.
Work Schedule
Hours/Week: 40 hours per week
Shift/Hours: Day shifts with alternating Saturdays. The building hours will be 7am - 7:30pm so there will be options for 8 and 10-hour shifts.
Location: Ypsilanti Health Center Michigan Avenue. This is an on-site patient-facing position.
