Position Summary: This role will report to the Senior Financial Analyst and will be responsible for fixed assets, account reconciliations and month-end closing journal entries.The Staff Accountant partners with Team Leader(s) to make our customers successful by embracing AJA’s Vision and interfaces with all departments to ensure compliance to established accounting department standard operating procedures.
Essential Role Responsibilities
- Prepares transaction/support documentation and records month end journal entries.
- Prepares account analyses and reconciliations on a monthly basis, as well as investigates and resolves variances.
- Participates in the month-end close process.
- Maintains fixed asset ledger and reconciliations.
- Prepares sales tax returns for multiple states.
- Assists in year-end audit process by preparing & providing schedules, supporting documentation and explanation and other necessary data as required.
- Performs other ad hoc projects and reporting as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Role Qualifications
- Strong understanding of financial concepts.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and especially Excel.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Essential Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent (Preferred).
- 0-3 years of general finance/accounting experience (Preferred).
