Summary
Prepare, record, verify and pay vendor invoices for goods and services on a timely basis/respond to vendor queries | Maintain, analyze and reconcile accounts payable ledger accounts, financial statements and reports | Develop, direct, plan and evaluate accounts payable policies and procedures l Ensure external and internal controls and policies are not compromised.
What You'll Do
Research and analyze transactions and accounts that require corrections. Process the corrections by creating Adjustments, Credits, Financial Adjustments (Journal Entries), Obsolete invoices and verifying/creating Refunds to Vendors. Must understand the transactions and effects of adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Complete Account Reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
Perform Monthly and Annual Close of the Accounts Payable module. Review invoices and documents, accrue expenses in accordance with policy to ensure the integrity of the financial statements and compliance with GAAP.
Lead the team in identifying and implementing processes that support SRP policies and procedures.
Create Board and Trend Reports on a periodic basis. Research and complete the processes for Foreign Transaction Reports, OFAC review and other compliance reporting/processes as requested.
Work with Auditors (External and Internal) to produce required evidence and documents requested. Communicate with and support SRP Business Associates regarding inquires or data requests.
Engage in continual improvement of processes. Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics and Warehousing to make corrections and to ensure compliance and appropriate accounting procedures are used.
Processes payments returned from the bank and reimbursements from Board and Council.
Experience
Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years' experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor.
Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years' experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.
Education
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
