Senior Accountant - Finance Transformation
This individual will play a role in working across a portfolio of projects, aimed at enhancing the analytical capabilities across the company. This individual will help building and implementing analytical solutions for the finance department and preparing cross-divisional executive updates. Working closely with the finance and technical teams, the Finance Transformation Senior will help drive process and system improvements to enable the finance organization to scale, improving efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Key responsibilities include interacting with senior management, partnering with technology and operations teams, help designing new processes and approaches, and contributing to the Finance organization's strategic direction.
The Finance Transformation Senior will help support the transformation of the Finance function at OneMain by: analyzing and enhancing the impact of proposed and ongoing initiatives; identifying new analytical approaches to solving business issues and delivering insights; providing data analytics to support the finance function; identifying, understanding, and highlighting risks and dependencies for transformation projects; identifying and promoting additional projects that improve the Finance organization; and developing reporting views and dashboards both against project progress and broader financial metrics.
This position requires basic knowledge of system administration, data integration, metadata management, but also familiarity with accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Financial Insights:
* Help brainstorm recommendations on incremental data that could better inform financial analyses.
* Help maintain and write new calculations for various processes and KPIs based on new business requirements.
Process Improvement:
* Help map and assess the current state of teams, systems, processes, and identifying pain points and inefficiencies.
Project Management and Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Participate in meetings with key stakeholders to drive projects forward.
* Participate in ad-hoc system optimization projects as required or assigned.
Reporting and Dashboard Creation:
* Participate in report enhancement projects to create, maintain, and update dashboards, CubeViews, and Forms.
* Prepare dashboards to share progress and insights with management.
System Implementation and Testing:
* Execute validation based on test plans defined for IT and business user testing.
* Participate in the design, build, training and roll out of new modules or custom solution.
* Help perform testing and complete documentation of application upgrades.
System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
* Collaborate with various organizations (Accounting, FP&A, Financial Systems) on metadata management.
* Help maintain data sources, business rules, transformation rules and workflow profiles.
* Help maintain existing marketplace solutions (RCM, ACM, People planning, and Task manager) and perform upgrades as needed.
* Help maintain existing CubeViews, books, and forms.
* Help troubleshoot system errors and document consistent problems for future enhancements.
Training and Compliance:
* Help develop and deliver training to end-users across finance organization.
* Follow IT change management, incident management, and support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or higher - Accounting, Finance, MIS preferred
* 3+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, MIS, and/or System administration
* Flexibility to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
* Exceptional communications skills, both oral and written
* Self-motivated with a strong ability to drive change, identify and resolve issues, and effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
* Great team player with the willingness to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Preferred:
* CPA or CPA candidate
* Technical experience in designing, maintaining & implementing financial system solutions based on business requirements
* Experience with OneStream, SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, Essbase, Oracle Cloud, VB Script, Tableau, Coupa
* Experience in the Financial Services industry
