Your Role at Baxter:
The Sr. Financial Analyst - SEC Reporting will interface with a broad spectrum of Finance and non-Finance personnel globally – both in the businesses and across Corporate functions such as Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, Stockholder Services and Legal. This role provides excellent top-level exposure to the financial performance of Baxter and each of its businesses as well as development in U.S. GAAP and SEC rules.
What You'll be Doing:
- Work with team to prepare financial reports on Forms 10-K and 10-Q, including U.S. GAAP financial statements, Management Discussion and Analysis, footnote disclosures and other SEC reporting requirements in accordance with filing requirements, utilizing the Workiva platform.
- Ensure accuracy of information presented in SEC filings and Investor Presentations by performing detailed tie-outs to source documents.
- Work with the team to prepare Form 8-K and any other required SEC filings throughout the year.
- Perform financial analysis and provide support to Investor Relations in preparation of quarterly earnings releases and other investor presentations.
- Account for various technical accounting areas which may include pensions, restructuring, and stock-based compensation.
- Perform month-end close activities such as preparation and/or review of journal entries and reports.
- Support the external audit, including quarterly and annual financial statement audit.
- Monitor GAAP and SEC developments and assist in the implementation of new accounting and disclosure standards.
- Support accounting for business development activities such as business combinations, divestitures, joint ventures and investments.
- Participate in the effort to maintain Baxter’s SOX compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Accounting. CPA preferred.
- 3 plus years of relevant SEC reporting work experience.
- Key experiences in one or more of the following: stock compensation accounting, pension accounting and financial reporting.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
- Strong technical, research, and analytical skills.
- Close attention to detail, quality, and control.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results in an efficient and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, organizing, prioritizing and communicating effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Excel skills.
