POSITION SUMMARY: Performs polysomnograms/multiple sleep latency tests including scoring according to established standards and practices. Assists in the training of new personnel. Performs clerical duties in support of the above.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school or equivalent. Associate degree in applied sciences preferred. Graduate of an accredited polysomnographic program preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: BLS certification required. RRT-SDS, RST or R.P.S.G.T. required.
SKILLS:
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Basic clerical, office, computer and keyboarding
- Legible handwriting, good telephone skills
- Able to maintain composure under stress
- Perform PSG/MSLTS, score records, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
EXPERIENCE: Two to three years' experience in clinical or research human polysomnography, preferred.

-Responsible to: Manager, Sleep Center
Executive Director of Diagnostic and Respiratory Care Service Lines
ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogen B - Extended isolation in a confined area. Possible exposure to contagion, electric shock or combative patient. Can be stressful, medical emergencies may arise. Routine use of toxic substances: collodion and acetone.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Excellent hand/eye coordination and finger dexterity. Long periods of standing or sitting (up to several hours). Requires close work good vision, including color vision. Lift 40 lbs. waist high, reach overhead. Good hearing, frequent brief keyboarding using good ergonomic principles. Must be able to assist in patient transfers.
