Senior Financial Analyst – Retail Innovation Finance
This position plays a vital role in delivering essential financial and analytical support to the Innovation, Marketing, and R&D divisions within the Prepared Foods and Poultry business groups. Responsibilities encompass analyzing forecasts, scrutinizing profit and loss statements, providing financial guidance for innovation initiatives, training fellow team members in financial development, and preparing Capital Improvement Requests (CIRs) for significant innovation investments.
The incumbent will actively contribute to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategic Plan processes, taking charge of developing, maintaining, and reporting performance metrics crucial for leadership's strategic decision-making. As a key member of the Innovation Finance team, the candidate will work towards ensuring sustainable and meaningful growth for Tyson Foods by actively participating in the development of the new product pipeline.
Success in this role will be marked by the candidate's ability to cultivate leadership skills through collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including marketing, engineering, supply chain, R&D, consumer insights, and finance. The role involves enhancing financial literacy across the organization and ensuring robust data governance. Project involvement will often revolve around handling large datasets using industry-standard applications such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Power Query, etc.
This position is well-suited for an individual eager to make a significant impact on a successful and expanding team, gaining a comprehensive understanding of product development from the ground up. The candidate can anticipate exposure to various financial disciplines, data management, and a focus on imparting financial P&L training to others.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting
Experience: 3+ years work experience in Finance/Accounting
Required Technical Skills: Strong analytical and system skills (Excel) required. Ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets and translate into meaningful information. Experience working with Power BI/Query, Tableau Prep Builder, AFE (Analysis for Excel), SAP/S4 HANA, and Python a plus.
Communication Skills: Working collaboratively with Innovation leaders necessitates strong communication skills to effectively convey complex financial information to a broad audience.
Special Skills: Possessing a keen eye for detail along with robust data organizational skills, coupled with a sound understanding of financial accounting concepts, enabling the ability to perform critical analysis seamlessly while collaborating cross-functionally.
Travel: 1 to 3 domestic trips per year.

Key Qualifications:
- Academic background & professional experience in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics
- Two to five years of related work experience
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to enhance financial literacy across the organization

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and growing team, showing adaptability to changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Business Unit Finance and/or analysis of profit and loss (P&L) statements
- Experience with data management/visualization applications (SQL, Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience with programming (Python, SQL) and process automation
- Experience in developing leadership skills, particularly in training and guiding team members in financial development
