Job description
As part of Corporate Accounting, this position will serve as an expert and project lead on various U.S. GAAP and SEC technical accounting issues by timely researching complex transactions and new accounting guidance independently, assessing implications, documenting conclusions, communicating with the impacted businesses and corporate departments, training, and managing an implementation plan.
This position is expected to routinely provide technical accounting guidance in various areas such as: contracts, revenue recognition, leases, derivatives, VIE assessments, impairment analysis, acquisitions, divestitures, and overall application of new and existing accounting standards. This position specifically works largely with leases; therefore, experience and deep understanding in this area is preferred. Further, this position is expected to develop other Technical Accounting and larger Corporate Accounting team members who assist with the completion of the technical accounting reviews.
The candidate must rely upon experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks/projects in a timely manner including the ability to work under tight deadlines and working proactively with external auditors to drive timely closure of technical accounting matters.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this job; Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
Experience: 7 plus years of related experience preferred specifically including Technical Accounting/writing accounting memos.
Computer Skills: Requires advanced computer skills; must have working ability with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook and ability to perform technical research using various research tools; some working knowledge of SAP and Power BI preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent written presentation and verbal communication skills.
Special Skills: Certified Public Accountant (preferred); Excellent technical accounting knowledge and ability to research complex GAAP accounting standards, document conclusions and communicate effectively across accounting and non-accounting stakeholders; Ability to simplify complex topics, both verbally and in written communications; Strong team-oriented skills as well as a high level of self-motivation in working independently; Ability to work with a diverse group of people across various levels functions and locations; Track record for exceeding multiple goals on various short term projects simultaneously.
Supervisory: Currently no direct reports but must work in a TEAM with a wide variety of groups to accomplish responsibilities.
Travel: 1 to 4 domestic trips a year.

Pay: $98,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
