Job Description:
OBJECTIVE
The Senior Credit Analyst (the Analyst) is responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of the credit risk management process. The Analyst's primary objective is to support the Credit Department’s function of conducting financial statement analysis for both public and privately-held businesses, establishing credit limits, perform monitoring, and develop the reporting of credit exposures to Senior Management to ensure that the Wheels US credit portfolio is of strong credit quality and within the established risk appetite.
Essential Functions
- Possess an in-depth understanding of the business capabilities and objectives of the Credit Department throughout the organization.
- Ensure development and implementation of technology capabilities and solutions to support the Credit Department’s analytical, underwriting, and reporting function.
- Establish scalable, efficient, and automated processes for credit analysis.
- Ability to assimilate results and articulate recommendations to management.
- Preparing and analyzing multiple data sets.
- Conducting various ad-hoc analysis of customer credit data.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to create automated financial reporting dashboards.
- Ensure each step of the underwriting and renewal process is compliant with company and regulatory guidelines, policies, procedures, and methodology.
- Assess work procedures and expedite work flow.
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis and reporting.
Other Duties
- Handle ordering issues as the need arises, with the goal of managing issue to completion prior to its elevation to Management.
- Generate reporting and system queries as necessary to support credit portfolio management activities, department initiatives, and processes.
- Collaborate with Sales staff, Client Services, and IT to implement analytical solutions and outcomes.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Familiarity with credit risk scoring methodologies and credit risk mitigation concepts.
- Knowledge of financial systems.
- Technical abilities including programming experience (Python or R) and writing SQL queries.
- Ability to use visualization software (Tableau or Power BI) to create dashboards.
- Demonstrated capacity for quantitative and statistical reasoning.
- Strong time and project management skills to successfully work on multiple analytical assignments without loss in quality while meeting timelines.

Minimum Required Education & Experience
- Minimum 4 years in quantitative roles, preferably at a financing company or bank.
- Bachelor's degree in business or finance field, economics, or math.
- Proficiency with Python or R (or similar programming languages) and Excel/VBA.
- Effective communicator at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with SQL and utilizing the queried data to develop Tableau or Power BI dashboards.
TRAVEL
Travel of 5% is possible for this position.
POSITION TYPE/STANDARD SCHEDULE
Full-time position for 40 hours during workdays Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm.
