Jr/Entry Project Accountant / Financial Analyst
Job Location: Visalia, CA
Responsibilities
Operational Duties:
- Prepares client invoices for contracts for projects, including verifying contract terms, collating invoice packages, filing and retention of invoice documentation.
- Creation of SOV for both the client and subcontractors in financial system.
- Creation of budget and WBS per company policies and standards.
- Follows prescribed project setup in all systems and translates setup into the financial system(s).
- Assist with managing and issuing subcontracts and vendor contracts for large material purchases including change orders.
- Responsible for some project related reporting and assists with job cost reviews.
- Performs review and analysis of monthly outstanding unbilled account balances.
- Weekly dissemination of reporting and info to include live walk throughs and operations training.
- Assists with monthly WIP creation and adjustments.
- Closes out completed projects in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures.
- Utilizes financial systems to facilitate billing and payment of subcontractors.
- Tracks and coordinates completion of required compliance items both internally and externally.
- Coordinate and assist with procurement needs for projects.
- Ensures confirmed tax amounts are properly included on client invoices.
- Research tax requirements for project location and administer, audit for compliance.
- Confirms tax amounts due with corporate tax department.
- Responsible for all project insurance and bonding requirements and facilitation.
- Assist with lien waiver management for projects.
Corporate Duties:
- With high level goals provided, manages the project accounting function for small to medium sized projects.
- Maintains project accounting policies/procedures and ensures they are kept current, documented, and followed.
- Participates in monthly project review calls to identify problems/opportunities.
Technical Duties:
- Assist with general administration of office, fleet, and project needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1-3+ years of varying and gradual accounting experience; construction experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or industry experience equivalent.
- Computer skills and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation:
The salary will be determined by the candidate's skill and experience level and is highly competitive with industry standards. The benefits package includes full employee health coverage (50% coverage for dependents), company 401(k) contribution, and performance bonuses. The expected salary range for this position is $55k-$65k.
