Join the Enterprise Financial Planning and Analysis team! This role partners with members of the Finance leadership team to manage aspects of the Cigna Finance department’s operational budget. This role is responsible for completing the expense forecasting management process and performing financial business decision support activities. The scope of primary planning responsibilities include US Employer Underwriting, Internal Audit, Audit Fees, Treasury, Bank Fees, Tax, Shared Service Flash and R&O reporting and may assist in various Senior Management financial reporting and analysis for Finance.
Major Responsibilities Include:
- Partner with business owners to develop and prepare periodic forecasts and operating expense plans for Finance business teams.
- Develops and prepares expense analysis reports and/or scorecards with actionable insights for various levels of management including the senior team.
- Provides consultative options and recommendations to optimize limited budget resources.
- Analyze and identify drivers of forecasts vs. actual expense variances. Identifies risks and opportunities to expense targets. Makes recommendations to assist business leaders to take action to close gaps to operational expense targets.
- Continuously improve periodic forecasting tools and metrics to increase cost and activity transparency. Develops driver based expense models using metrics and data to produce forecasts.
- Engage broader Finance community partners for cross organizational initiatives involving collaboration (e.g., Global Procurement and Third Party Management, Accounting, etc.). Ensure financial transparency into initiative development and results.
- Leverages Oracle Hyperion based technology and other tools to enhance reporting and projection models.
- Other aspects of the role: review vendor contract financial terms for consistency with operational expense goals and assist with cost benefit analysis for new projects and investments which may include modeling.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred
- 4-5+ years of Finance experience.
- Experience in business financial planning and financial analysis needed.
- Strong understanding of expense accounting and management reporting needed.
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry is highly desirable.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills. Oracle Hyperion Planning and EssBase experience is a plus.
- End-User knowledge of Hyperion Planning Tools or similar database concepts.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
