SENIOR RESEARCH ANALYST

Job Summary:
The Senior Research Analyst will lead the Powering Climate & Infrastructure Careers Challenge (PCICC) initiative, with a focus on advancing green industry workforce development. This role involves analyzing the effectiveness of workforce programs designed to support careers in climate resilience and green technologies, developing predictive models to forecast labor market demand in clean energy and sustainable infrastructure, and delivering actionable, data-driven recommendations.
Leveraging the state’s workforce evaluation system and labor market data, the analyst will produce comprehensive reports that assess trends in the green economy, identify skills gaps, and propose strategies to align workforce training with the evolving needs of the climate and infrastructure sectors. The analyst will oversee the creation of key deliverables, including reports, dashboards, and presentations for state agencies and community stakeholders.
In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined above, the analyst will lead related projects by assisting with workforce evaluation system reporting, maintaining website content, and responding to ad hoc analytic requests from the Primary Investigator.
This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements, 1 day per week in the office/hoteling).
Job Duties:
- Assess existing workforce training programs, providing insights into emerging trends, completion rates, industry placement, skill demands, and wages within green energy sectors
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify emerging and in-demand green industries, based on wage, industry classification, and workforce development program data
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve program accessibility and effectiveness for underserved communities
- Evaluate regional green job opportunities and workforce development gaps to support targeted investments into Arizona’s green economy
- Collaborate with state agencies and local organizations to integrate analytics into workforce development plans
- Develop and publish reports to share and explain findings
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge:
- Analytic thinking, including the ability to apply standard research methodologies, applied statistics, and use of data manipulation techniques
- Obtained a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in economics, statistics, or a related field
- Working knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform and products
- Minimum of three years of experience performing analytic work
- Working knowledge of workforce programs
Skills:
- Excellent data analysis and visualization skills
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Strong problem-solving skills
Abilities:
- Ability to collaborate with others, and present complex analytic concepts and findings to diverse stakeholders
- Can expertly use data analysis and management software such as Python, R, or SAS

Pre-Employment Requirements:
