SUMMARY:
The Analyst has responsibility for analyzing, evaluating, and presenting aircraft transactions, as well as assisting in the managing of assets within the AAR fleet, owned and managed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review requests for proposals (RFPs) received by the department and perform initial scorecard evaluations.
- Analyze aircraft purchase opportunities based on cash flow projections, return on investment, and other key indicators of investment attractiveness.
- Quantify economic status of aircraft at lease return as determined by betterment/detriments calculations or balance of maintenance reserve funds and perform residual sensitivity analysis for different pricing scenarios.
- Apply debt assumptions to analysis to calculate a levered return on a transaction.
- Strong MS Excel skills to aggregate financial analysis of multi-aircraft portfolio acquisitions.
- Analyze financial health and credit worthiness of potential lessees.
- Prepare deal approval write-ups detailing all factors related to the acquisition including analysis and evaluation of aircraft type/fleet, market, lessee, credit, economics, and others.
- Present and discuss with the executive management financial implications of proposed acquisitions both from JV perspective and AAR investment perspective.
- Log and prioritize opportunities to ensure timely and accurate processing of business transactions.
- Perform due diligence supporting the sales efforts for aircraft marketed for sale or lease by the AAR Aircraft Sales & Leasing group.
- Aggregate and track flight and maintenance data for use in management and reporting of assets on-lease and managed by the group.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in finance or economics; plus, two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, strong MS Excel competence.
- Prior experience in the aviation industry a plus but not required.
