Position Overview:
This position provides leadership and guidance to Insurance team members while acting as a resource to the Crop Insurance Sales Team. Continually grows the knowledge base of the team and is responsible for the training of new hires and interns. Sets the department priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.
Essential Functions:
- Recruits, selects, develops, motivates, coaches, trains, evaluates, and rewards a diverse team of Insurance Administrator team members.
- Collaborates with insurance leadership to identify regional sales and support needs.
- Provides clear and timely communication and feedback to all team members on performance expectations.
- Promotes a positive work environment that leverages the talents and abilities of team members in achieving organizational and team goals.
- Leads regional team conference calls and assists with full team conference calls.
- Works closely with other teams to service all aspects of client relationships.
- Manages team schedule to ensure adequate coverage.
- Travels to assigned offices on regular basis.
- Provides adequate onboarding to new hires through collaboration with Insurance Development team.
- Acts as a liaison between Insurance Administrator team and underwriters for the insurance company and is responsible for approval of insurance documents and other requests.
- Acts as the liaison between the Crop Insurance Sales and Insurance Administrator team on underwriting guidelines, processes and deadlines.
- Collaborates with insurance leadership on documents missing after submission deadlines.
- Oversees the process of reconciling forms to be disbursed to Insurance Officers.
Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, agriculture, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in the crop insurance field.
- Minimum of one year of leadership and management experience preferred.
- Insurance license required.
- Advanced knowledge of Crop Insurance products and requirements.
- Leadership skills to select, evaluate, engage, motivate, mentor, train, delegate, reward and lead remote team members.
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
- Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced client service skills and project management skills.
- Ability to travel 2 to 3 days per month.
- Valid driver’s license.
