Job Summary:
The Credit Risk Rating Program Analyst will assist in deploying the bank’s scorecard risk rating program. The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial loan underwriting and a demonstrated interest in data analysis and coding. Position represents a unique opportunity to learn all facets of banking including loan structuring, underwriting, onboarding, data collection, analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess an intellectual curiosity to learn more about the bank’s loan products and use that knowledge to uncover trends and data anomalies.
This position will report directly to the Credit Risk Rating Program Manager and will involve learning new technologies, gaining a deep knowledge of commercial lending risk, and crafting impactful visualizations to help monitor the bank’s credit risk.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist Credit Risk Rating Program Manager with implementation of risk rating scorecards for all commercial loans.
- Analyze and visualize risk rating data with BI tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Documentation of scorecard methodologies and meetings.
- Assist front line analysts and underwriters in completing credit scorecards.
- Help create data infrastructure via SQL Server and/or Snowflake.
- Create visualizations, reports, and dashboards to help management understand changes in portfolio risk.
- Follows bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.
- Performs other duties as may be required.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years professional experience; 2+ years as a commercial underwriter, preferred.
- Understanding of commercial loan underwriting and analysis.
- Demonstrated interest in data analysis and coding (SQL preferred), which can be established through verbal knowledge or an online certificate (i.e. Google Data Analytics Certification, Tableau Certification, IBM Data Analyst Certificate, etc.).
- Working knowledge of bank regulations.
- Ability to communicate with internal parties to assist in completing credit scorecards and explain underlying logic.
- Strong experience with Excel and Word required. Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, Tableau or Power BI preferred.
- Excellent written communication and organizational skills to ensure regulatory compliance.
