Description
The Senior Financial Analyst supports the Finance Manager by overseeing forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close processes. This role involves analyzing financial data, managing customer incentive programs, and leading process improvements to enhance efficiency within the finance department.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Take an active role in the annual forecasting and budgeting process by analyzing financial trends and providing recommendations to management.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Network Members, suppliers, and internal teams, with a focus on reconciling Member transmissions and identifying discrepancies in sales and accounts payable.
- Lead month-end close activities by collaborating closely with finance and accounting teams, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Provide ad hoc corporate account sales analysis, communicating findings to internal teams and/or Member contacts, and resolving outstanding issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain documentation for finance processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Manage corporate account customer incentive programs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual agreements.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to drive efficiencies and time savings within the finance team, including automation of key processes.
- Assist with internal control documentation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Conduct periodic audits of system postings and manage Member trade accounts payable balances.
- Support the finance team with ad hoc financial reporting, modeling, and special projects, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Assist with the completion of the annual financial audit by gathering necessary data and coordinating with auditors.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Solid understanding of all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and inventory management.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive process improvements.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships across departments and at all levels of the organization.
- Trusted and respected team member with a proactive and flexible attitude.
- Familiarity with department-specific principles and procedures as well as a broad understanding of the organization's operations and challenges.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Work History Requirements:
- 2 – 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with a preference for distribution industry experience.
- Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (required).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: MOS Expert Certification preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems required, SAP experience a plus.
- Experience with cloud-based business planning and forecasting tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights).
