Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for recording cash transactions, assisting with other entries needed to maintain books and records of Trust entities, including recording entries in ERP, performing reconciliations, participating in monthly/quarterly close process and various projects as assigned by the Trust Accounting Controller, Senior Vice President – Collateral Valuation or the Senior Vice President – Trust Accounting & Operations.
Essential Functions
- Perform duties related to maintaining books and records of Trust entities including recording cash and accrual transactions, perform balance sheet reconciliations, prepare waterfall calculation to support distribution entries, and prepare monthly journal entries.
- Record capital activity in Investment Subledger for underlying private equity portfolio and assist with associated reconciliation.
- Record loan activity in Loan Subledger and assist with monthly reconciliations.
- Monthly reconciliation of intercompany reimbursable items between Corporate, Trust, and Special Purpose Vehicles.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly closing reconciliations and tasks in automated financial close system and assist with audit requests (as needed).
- Manage documentation of approval process through Docusign including for Trustee/Manager approvals.
- Assist with IT projects including user acceptance testing (as needed).
- Assist with any special projects (as needed).

- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with other departments and third parties, both domestic and international.
- Strong Excel skills, analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
- Ability to prioritize deliverables and meet demanding deadlines.
- General familiarity with accounting systems.
- Understanding of the monthly/quarterly accounting cycle.
- Basic familiarity with alternative asset financial reporting and private equity (preferred).
- Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred).
- General knowledge of Microsoft software products and cloud-based systems.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organization.
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
- Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn accounting concepts.
