The Lead Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for Individual Market’s financial reporting and analysis of profitability across Guardian’s 70+ independent and company owned agencies. As part of agency purchase transactions, the Lead Financial Analyst plays a significant role preparing pro-forma financial documents, assisting with due diligence reviews and monitoring debt covenant compliance to support Guardian’s loan funding subsidiary’s business valuations and debt issuance.
You will
- Build and maintain a subject matter expertise level understanding of agency operations and sources of revenue and expenses.
- Use reporting tools and methods to build well controlled processes to identify and research variances and trends.
- Prepare quarterly agency financial results and analysis presentations for senior management.
- Take lead role assisting with Guardian’s loan funding subsidiary’s due diligence review of agency financial results, projections, and valuation models to support agency succession planning strategy.
- Develop and demonstrate a deep understanding of agency buy out transactions and loan agreements to support responsibilities monitoring and reporting on loan covenant compliance. Includes working closely with agency independent auditors and chief financial officer.
- Collaborate with business owners of financial systems and the data analytics team to develop a detailed understanding of data sources, structures, and systems.
- Identify and drive implementation of opportunities to automate and enhance processes.
- Effectively manage priorities and work with internal/external department to provide response to ad hoc requests.
You have
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting.
- 5+ years of applicable accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and control procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High problem solving and analytical skills.
- Adapt to and work effectively in a changing environment.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate and improve processes.
- Strong knowledge of Excel.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
- Insurance industry knowledge is a plus.
- CPA is a plus.
Salary Range
$99,190.00 - $162,955.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
