Job Description
OES Equipment, a part of the DPR family of companies, is a fast-paced supplies and equipment rental company in the construction industry, currently seeking a Business Process Analyst. This role is responsible to elicit, gather, and analyze the needs of the business and then collaborate with business leaders, internal technical teams and external vendors to propose new solutions and process improvements. Business analysts apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help the business make and implement good decisions. Business analysts are proactive about working with all parts of the business to optimize processes and technologies to achieve long-term goals. A successful business analyst will be tenacious in the face of difficult problems and driven to help others succeed.
Responsibilities
- Proactively engage business users spanning multiple business units to articulate current business goals and processes.
- Verify feasibility and impact of business requests based on existing business rules and processes.
- Research how technology can support new and/or improved business processes.
- Work with technical partners to verify business requests and impacts with existing capabilities of technical systems and data structures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, better utilization of resources, product enhancements, improved communications and faster issue resolution.
- Identify and communicate business risks and potential points of failure as early as possible.
- Create and present the following documents as needed for a given scope or project:
- Scope overview
- Business use cases
- Process diagrams
- Business-specific process tutorials
- Simple data reports and analysis
- Cost/Benefit Analysis
- SWOT Analysis
- Lessons Learned/Project Retrospective
- Ability to analyze business data and turn it into meaningful, action-oriented insights.
- Research and recommend best industry standards and practices where applicable.
- Collaborate with external vendors and consultants on an as-needed basis.
- Pilot new business processes personally to evaluate results based on first-hand experience.
- Shadow, ride along, and observe current business processes in person on a scope-specific basis. Document key findings and recommended next steps.
- Attend internal team meetings in person annually. Attend vendor conferences and join vendor training webinars remotely as interested and approved by team lead.
- Attend ad hoc project meetings in person as needed.
Education & Experience
- College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, finance, information systems, supply chain management, construction management, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3-5+ years of business and technical process improvement work experience.
- A background in business finance, commercial construction, or supply chain management is desired.
- Proven experience with business and technical process analysis and improvement.
- Analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to business processes as required.
- Strong Office 365 experience, including Excel, Word, and Visio.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented with the ability to learn quickly and efficiently.
- A strong desire to learn and share information with others to make their job easier.
