The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Lead Accountant with maintaining accounting principles to prepare financial reports, and financial statements, analysis of financial data, and ensuring financial compliance. The Staff Accountant will execute a variety of financial tasks, including assistance with month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable, general ledger entries, and expense reporting compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monthly and annual financial close timely and accurately
- Ensure administration fees, team fees, and credit card fees are accurately applied and collected
- from staff ministry accounts
- Ensure staff ministry accounts are accurately closed monthly and communicated to ministry team
- leaders and staff members timely
- Prepare general journal entries and accrue expenses
- Accounts payable and ensure vendors are paid timely
- Review monthly staff expense reimbursements for compliance
- Prepare and import expense reimbursement journal entries
- Monthly reconciliation and recording of corporate credit card charges
- Annual 1099 process
- Administration of the company admin email to respond to employee inquiries
Education and Experience
- Experience working in accounting, a plus
