ABOUT THE POSITION
This role will lead the accounting function across all affiliated companies. This role will also assist in a variety of areas within the department. In addition to standard accounting tasks, they will help with internal auditing and controls, and make suggestions to improve processes and internal reporting. This role offers a great opportunity to make an impact in a wide range of areas.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare financial statements of affiliated companies for Controller review.
- Includes journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
- Project cost accounting for monthly revenue recognition and variance analysis.
- Work with management company to gather necessary information to prepare real estate financial statements.
- Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations and various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Coordinate periodic testing and review of internal controls and risk areas.
- Assist Controller with various analysis of GL / ERP activity.
- Assist with annual audit and reports needed for annual tax filings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience in Corporate Accounting.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Quickbooks.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships at all levels of the company.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
